Insomnia
Kava has been shown to help those with insomnia get a good night's rest.
The
Psychopharmacology Research Group in London published a study in Sept. 2001
that showed significant relief of stress-induced insomnia.
Another
paper by the Dept. of Psychiatry at LMU Munich, Germany, describes how "kava
pyrones have additive effects with the serotonin-1A agonist ipsapirone probably
contributing to their anxiolytic and sleep- inducing effects".
